JUST BE-COWS...

Hey there, I'm almost done with the Hope You Can Cling To card drive...just a couple more cards and that will be it.  I have really enjoyed all of the challenges!  Edna's challenge, Frilly Paper Ribbon, is to use what we got.  She wants us to recycle some tissue paper, break out the crepe paper or convert a strip of discarded designer paper into a frilly ribbon to adorn the card.

I'm using an Our Craft Lounge set for this card called Eiei Hello.  This little cow is way too cute and super easy to color!  The image was stamped on white card stock and colored with Copic markers.  The paper ribbon thing had me stumped so I took a strip of striped DP and crinkled it up.  I ran it through a paper crimper half a dozen times crinkling it in between.  I taped it to the back of a piece of black card stock like a ruffle.

I'm not exactly sure if it looks like a ribbon, but I sure do like how this card turned out!  The sentiment was stamped on the background panel and three rhinestones complete the card.  Tomorrow is Halloween so I'll be too busy to work on cards.  I hope to see you back here in a couple of days!  Don't let the little ghosties and goulies scare you!  Happy Halloween!

SURFIN' BY

Hey there, I'm back this afternoon with another card for the  Hope You Can Cling To card drive through Splitcoast Stampers.  Lori's challenge is to Bling the Cling.  She wants us to create a card with rhinestone bling.

I chose to work with one of Our Craft Lounge's new singles called Surfin' Santa.  He's pretty cute, huh?  Although the set doesn't come with a thank you, I think he would make some pretty cute after Christmas thank you cards!  Santa was stamped on white card stock and colored with Copic markers.  Sparkly Fluff was added to the white parts of the hat and Stickles were added to the white parts of the waves.

A bow was tied with twine and the main image popped up on foam.  The rhinestones complete the card and were colored with B97.  I guess that's about it for this one.

TRICK-OR-TREAT!

Hey there, I decided to take a break from the Hope You Can Cling To card drive and work on this super cute Halloween project.  I got the idea online but I can't remember where it was or I would link it.  Sorry!  Theirs was really cute but if I remember right, I think they painted theirs.  Since I'm a paper crafter, I decided to use punches for the eyes and made a special little bag for my trick-or-treater friend.

A small pumpkin (about 6-7" wide and the same tall)  was washed then painted with black paint.  The paint scratches off pretty easy so I had to be very careful.  After it was painted, a heat tool was used to speed up the drying process.

A 1 3/8" circle punch was used to cut two white and two black circles for the eyes.  The white pieces were left whole and the black was cut a little over half way.  Two more pieces were cut with a 3/4" punch for the pumpkin's pupils.  A white gel pen was used to make light reflections then they were covered with a Clear Glaze pen to make them shiny.  All of the pieces were adhered and Zots attach the eyes to the pumpkin.

The wings were cut out of black card stock with a pattern that I drew. Two oval Nesties were used as guides for the bottom then the rest was freehanded.  A wooden skewer was cut to size then black electrical tape was used to attached them.  The skewer was left a couple inches longer and the pointy end was poked into the pumpkin.  Easy peasy!  A Zots was cut in half and was placed on the bottom of the wings securing them to the pumpkin.

I decided since my little friend is a pumpkin dressed as a bat for trick-or-treating, he needed a little bag to hold his loot!  I came up with a pattern then used a Scor-Pal to score the lines.  The moon on the bag was made with a 1 1/4" circle punch.  It was cut twice to create the crescent.  The bat was cut with a decorative strip die, VersaMark was applied to it, Heat and Bond power was sprinkled on it, a heat tool was used until it was gooey, black Crafty Sparkles were sprinkled on it while it was gooey then heat set on last time.  It's super glittery!  The stamp is from an Our Craft Lounge set called Holiday Cruiser.  Floral wire was used as the holder and it's attached to the wing by a brad.  I guess that's about it.

Thanks for stopping by!  Monster

...IT'S THE JOURNEY

Hey there, Breast Cancer Awareness month is winding down and so is the Hope You Can Cling To card drive through Splitcoast Stampers.  Eva's challenge, Words of Encouragement, is about powerful words showing love and caring during someone's time of need.  She wants us to create a card with a focal point of a word, quote or sentiment of encouragement.  I'm also going to play along in the Going Pink challenge through Our Craft Lounge.  Your project should have a pink theme and although you don't have to use OCL stamps, you get extra points if you do.

I've been participating in the HYCCT card drive since the beginning of the month and I've had OCL's The Journey sitting on my desk all month waiting for the perfect opportunity to ink it up...this is it, and I'm so glad I was able to use it!  This is a super-duper easy card, but it packs a strong message!

Three Nestability die cuts were used.  While the sentiment was still in the die, it was sponged with pink ink.  The seam binding was dyed with the same ink and dried with a heat tool.  Three rhinestones complete the card.  I guess that's about it for this one...I can't believe I'm almost caught up with all the HYCCT challenges!

JOY, PEACE AND LOVE

Hey there, I'm back with another Hope You Can Cling To card for the Splitcoast Stampers card drive benefiting breast cancer patients and their families.  Jami's challenge, Hope for the Holidays, is to create a Christmas/Winter/Holiday card using any shade of pink as the primary color.  I'm also joining in this week's Our Craft Lounge challenge, Going Pink.  Your project should have a pink theme, and although you do not have to use an OCL set, you get extra points if you do.

Vintage Ornaments is one of the new singles from OCL's last release.  Love this stamp!  I'm still blown away by the fact that Marianne, from I Like Markers blog, not only illustrated this set but wrote the sentiments by hand!  Pure talent right there!  The image was stamped on white card stock and colored with Copic markers.  A Clear Glaze Pen was used on the strand of pearls and Glossy Accents on the ornaments.

While that dried, Copic re-inkers (RV11 and RV10) were used to dye the seam binding.  This was my first time using seam binding and the Copic re-inkers did the trick, but I think I'll try an ink pad next time.  The Copic re-inkers left me and my non-stick mat feeling a little sticky...nothing a little blending solution couldn't help though!  The edges of the image were sponged for a softer look.  A vintage brad completes the card.  I guess that's it for this one.

THANKFUL FOR YOU

Hey there, here's another one for the Hope You Can Cling To card drive through Splitcoast Stampers to support breast cancer patients and their families.  Cathleen's challenge, Thank A Caregiver, was a fun one.  It can't be easy for caregivers/nurses to always be cheerful and supportive under these circumstances, so Cathleen wants to honor these men and women and let them know what an important roll they play in patient's lives by creating a thank you card.

There is very little stamping involved on this card.  In fact, it's just the sentiments inside and out...that's it!  The sentiments are from an Our Craft Lounge set called Thankful Flourishes.  It was stamped on white card stock, cut out with a Nestie then sponged before it was removed from the die.  I recently bought a bunch of Magnolia Doohickey dies and thought I would try them out.

The flowers (both sizes), greenery and dragonfly are all Magnolia dies and were cut out of white card stock then colored with Copic markers.  The flowers were all shaped on a thick computer mouse pad, a brad was inserted into the center then they were popped up on foam or adhered with Glue Dots.  Two dragonflies were cut, colored and Stickles were applied to the wings of one and the entire body of the other before they were glued together.  I guess that's about it for this one.

Copic coloring:

Large flower:  RV02, RV00, RV0000  Small flowers:  RV34, RV11, RV10  Greenery:  YG67, YG63, YG61  Dragonfly:  V99, V95, V93, V91

BAD MANNERS?

Hey there, happy Friday to you!  I'm off work today and hubby has to work so you know what that means...I'll be working on the Hope You Can Cling To challenges through Splitcoast Stampers!  Lisa's challenge, Pickled Tink, isn't as easy as it ought to be!  She wants us to make a humorous CAS (clean and simple) card with a splash of pink.  Yikes...I put way more thought into this than I should have.  The whole time I kept thinking about what my co-worker would tell me...KISS (keep it simple stupid!).  Who knew CAS would be so hard?  LOL!

I decided on two Our Craft Lounge sets called Reindeer Games and Reindeer Pun.  The reindeer and sentiment were stamped on white card stock, cut out with a Nestie and colored with Copic markers.  I added some Stickles around the outside edge of the die cut and also on the white snowflakes before layering them.

Bad manners...Rude-olf...come on, you know you smiled!  The lines were done with a Scor-Pal and a pearl on the center of the popped up snowflake completes the card.  Whew!  Now onto something a little easier...with lots of layers!  Ha!

SENDING YOU SUNSHINE

Hey there, I'm back with a super quick card for the Hope You Can Cling To card drive through Splitcoast Stampers.  At the end of the month, all of the cards I've made will be mailed to the UT MD Anderson Cancer Center in Houston, Texas in support of breast cancer patients and their families.  It's such a great cause and I'm honored that I could be a part of it this year!  Cindy's challenge, Send a Little Sunshine, is for us to make a card of encouragement / hope and she wants us to send a little sunshine today.

What better way to send a little sunshine than with Our Craft Lounge's Sunshine Cheer?  That little sun all colored up brings a smile to my face every time!  The suns were stamped on white card stock and the center one was stamped, colored, cut out then popped up on foam.
The layout is yesterday's SCS sketch challenge and it was perfect for this card!  Before I forget, this stamp set is available online at Memories of Time (the link is in the Supplies section at the bottom of this post).  If you enter the code "Check Us Out", you will receive 20% off your entire order!  How's that for a little sunshine to brighten your day?  *grin*

BORN TO BE WILD

Hey there, here's another card for the Hope You Can Cling To card drive through Splitcoast Stampers.  Jeanne just had her birthday (happy birthday Jeanne!) and her challenge, Happy Birthday!, is her wish that everyone is able to have another birthday to celebrate with their loved ones.  She wants us to create a birthday card that will bring a smile to someone's life.

I decided to go with an Our Craft Lounge set called The Tribe.  This set just cracks me up and I'm a little sad it is on the retiring list.  The plus side is that it is currently 40% off (link is in the "Supplies" section at the bottom of this post).  I'm sure hoping one of the breast cancer ladies with a sense of humor gets this one!  My little friend here was stamped on white card stock, masked so the sign could be behind her then colored with Copic markers.

The designer paper is from DCWV.  I've never colored on DP before, but I love how this turned out!  The animal print (I guess it might be Cheetah?) was the same shade or very close to the zebra print and I wanted it to match my gals shirt so I tested the markers on a scrap, liked what I saw then colored all of that paper to match.  You would think it was meant to be that color!  A brad was placed on the round sentiment panel and it was popped up on foam.  I guess that's about it for this one.

Copic coloring:

Cave woman:  E01, E00, E000, R81, V12, BG70  Hair:  E37, E35, E33, E30  Skirt:  E37, E35, E33, E30  Shirt:  YR23, YR21, YR20  Feathers: BG72, BG70, R85, R83, R81, V15, V12 Spears:  C3, C0,E47, E44, E43  Skull:  W3, W1, W00, BG75, BG72, BG70  Bones/teeth:  W2, W1, W00  Beads:  R83  Sign:  W3, W1, W00  Ground:  YG67, YG61, W3, W1, W00  Rocks:  C4, C2, C0  Sky:  R0000  Inside image:  R85, R83, R81, YR23, YR21, YR20, BG72, BG70, W2, W1, W00, YG67, YG61, R0000

BUZZIN' BY...

Hey there, here's another Hope You Can Cling To card for the Splitcoast Stampers card drive benefiting breast cancer patients and their families.  Anna's challenge, Save the Boo-Bees!, is to feature bees in our projects.  She would like to see bee-friendly scenes or the color yellow.

I dug into my stamps and grabbed three Our Craft Lounge sets called Just Bugz, Hello Spring and Bees Knees.  The first two are on the retired list (40% off) or all are available at Memories of Time (20% off entire order when you enter the code "Check Us Out").  Links to both stores are at the bottom of this post in the "Supplies" section.

This card was super easy to make and that little bee is too stinkin' cute!  He was stamped twice on white card stock, colored, cut out, Stickles were applied to both sets of wings, the bodies were adhered together, black Sparkly Fluff was glued onto the stripes and a Clear Glaze pen was used on his eyes.  The flowers from Just Bugz and Hello Spring were colored, cut out, shaped, Stickled, a brad was placed in the center of each then they were popped up on foam.

The honeycomb pattern on the yellow panel was done with one of the stamps in Bees Knees.  A piercing tool was used to track the bee's movements around the card.  I guess that's about it for this one.  Don't forget, OCL is "going pink" and will have daily posts this week to celebrate breast cancer awareness, so stop by the The Lounge and check it out.

Copic coloring:
