MORE PERPETUAL CALENDAR PAGES

Hey there, happy Sunday!  Before I get started showing you more Taylored Expressions Perpetual Calendar pages, I would like to say goodbye to Google Reader.  *sniff*  Thanks to all of you that have been following my blog...if you are interested in continuing your subscription, you may want to consider trying Bloglovin'.  There is a new widget on the right hand side of my blog for you to follow me on Bloglovin' OR if you want to import your Google Reader to Bloglovin' so you can continue to follow all of your favorite blogs, follow this link.  It's really easy and only takes a few minutes, but you have to do it tonight!

Now on to the calendar pages...I've been having a blast making these pages!  The June page is a sponged sunset and the Beach Border silhouette die.  LOVE!  The sun was punched from Copic Mask It.  Several Memento inks (see supply list below) were sponged for the sky, the mask was removed and ink sponged onto the sun to soften it.  The border die cut completes the page...easy!

SUPPLIES:
STAMPS:  None
PAPER:  Neenah Solar White; Bazzill Raven Monochromatic
INK:  Memento (Dandelion, Cantaloupe, Peanut Brittle, Potter's Clay, Ladybug)

SIZE OF FINISHED PROJECT:  4" x 4" (top panel)

I had a snow flurry in mind when making the January page (probably because it's been stinkin' hot here on the Oregon Coast!).  I started off using a toothbrush to spritz colorless masking fluid onto the panel.  Once it was dried, Memento London Fog was sponged over the entire panel then the masking fluid was rubbed off.  Make a Snowflake dies were cut from glitter card stock then adhered directly to the panel.

The last one for today is February.  For such a tiny little panel, it sure has a lot going on!  The Cloud Border die was used to create the sponged background.  Love Tree was cut, colored with Copic markers then adhered directly to the sponged panel.  The Picket Fence Border was adhered over the tree and a heart from Cupid's Arrows was popped up on foam.

POOLSIDE

Hey there, happy Friday!  I'm back with one last card to share for the week.  This is Poolside from Whipper Snapper Designs.  Although I won't be lounging by a pool, I will be up the river enjoying the great outdoors this weekend!  We'll be back by Sunday and I heard it's supposed to rain.  This just may be the perfect weekend...play in the sun Friday and Saturday, then head home and play in the craft room, guilt free, on Sunday!  Ha!  Anyway, the image was stamped on Neenah Solar white then colored with Copic markers.  Chevrons for a simple background + a few well placed rhinestones = a way easy card!  Have a great weekend!

HERD IT'S YOUR BIRTHDAY

Hey there, I've been wanting to color Farmtown Melody from Whipper Snapper Designs for a while but haven't had a chance.  The image was stamped three times, colored with Copic markers then fussy cut.  The entire thing was cut the first time then adhered to the card, the chicken and pig were both fussy cut and popped up then the pig's snout was fussy cut and popped up...it looks awesome with all that dimension!  I recently purchased the Farm Fence die and boy, oh boy, does it look great with this image!  The sentiment was computer generated.  This card fits the Designed to Color #14 challenge, Summer Summer Summertime!

TAYLORED EXPRESSIONS JUNE STUDIO CHALLENGE

Hey there, it's time for the Baker's Dozen Studio Challenge (a monthly opportunity for the DT to share what makes our stamping studios hum...each month we're asked a fun, crafty question so we can share our favorite products, tips/tricks, stamping advice and more).

The question for June is:
What's on your summer reading list?  Are you a big reader or not?  If you are, what books have you read lately that you would recommend?  Do you have a favorite author or genre? How about something for sitting out by the pool, or the beach or even just the backyard...some nice light summer reading?
Do you use fancy bookmarks or do you dog-ear your pages?  Or do you use an e-reader? Everyone can use bookmarks, and they make great favors and gifts.  Let's see a little inspiration!

Hmmm...summer reading list?  Nah!  I'm not much of a reader.  It isn't that I can't read...it's that I don't have time (especially in the summer)!  We do a lot of camping during the summer and we always have friends/family around to visit with.  When I'm at home, I spend my free time stamping.  So, nope, not much of a reader.  I have a sister that reads tons though (she totally makes up for me.  Ha!).  She'll be camping with hubby and I over the 4th of July, so I'll send one of these home with her.  I'll keep one for myself and throw away the scrap of torn paper I usually use as a bookmark (when I do decide to pick up a book) and I'll give the other two to a couple of my friends.

These were so quick and fun to make!  Each was cut twice...once in black card stock and the other in Neenah Solar White.  The white bookmark was sponged with two different inks then stamped using the Make it Amazing stamp set.  It was adhered to the black for a little extra stability before the ribbon/twine was added.  What do you use to cut your ribbon?  We (my buddies at my LSS) found this awesome gadget at the Winter CHA from Imaginisce.  It was definitely a must have for us and I absolutely love it!  It's a battery operated ribbon cutter/sealer, so you know what that means...no more frayed ends!  The battery heats up a metal wire that cuts/seals the ends of the ribbon at the same time.  It also has a really cool grid for cutting perfectly straight and/or diagonal lines every time!  A Flutterby was added to the bottom of each.

Hey there, this was for my VSN challenge through Splitcoaststampers.  Since the overall theme was Dog Days of Summer, I thought we needed a dog enjoying the summer!  "BEACH BUM" was a photo inspiration challenge, and I was inspired by the dog wearing goggles, the beach theme, the title and the fun, bright colors.  The pooch I chose to use is called Harley, from Whipper Snapper Designs.  No getting around it...he's a stud!  *ha*

JUN13VSNM - NAUTICAL ADVENTURE

Hey there, I'm back with another project I made for the VSN challenges through Splitcoaststampers.  Brenda's challenge...WATER, WATER, EVERYWHERE...was to create a project with a water image.  Whipper Snapper Designs, Nautical Adventure, is perfect and so much fun to color!  I really wanted it to look like she was in the water, so after coloring the image with Copic markers, I held my breath and grabbed my BG70 (one of the colors used for the water).  I used it to color on her skin, hair, snorkel and swimsuit.  Basically all of her!  It worked...it really does look like she's under the water!  Whoop!

JUN13VSNF - FLOWERS FOR MOM

Hey there, I'm back with another project I made for the VSN challenges through Splitcoaststampers.  Heidi's challenge, HOW DOES YOUR GARDEN GROW?, was all about creating a trellis or lattice work on our cards then filling it with flowers and leaves.  I can't say I've done this particular technique before, but I sure did have fun with it!  In the interest of saving time, I used a TE cutting plate to create the trellis.  The flowers/leaves were a snap too because I always have extra die cut and ready to color.  The sweet little angel is from Whipper Snapper Designs and is called Flowers for Mom.

JUN13VSNK - EVENING SURF

Hey there, I'm behind in posting my project for the Dog Days of Summer Virtual Stamp Night (VSN) through Splitcoaststampers!  Ann's challenge, Bright Star, was to make a card with either a sunset or sunrise and include some kind of star somewhere on the front.  She also wants to know who the brightest star is in our life...well, that would be my hubby!  He's definitely a keeper!  *grin*

When I first read about Ann's challenge, I was a little freaked out thinking there's no way...but then I dug through my stamps and found The Big Kahuna from Whipper Snapper Designs.  He's the perfect little critter to have a sunset peeking from behind him.  I still needed to incorporate a star though...then I had a brainstorm!  I've had a little star sitting on my desk for about a month that I had scored and shaped and at the time, I thought it looked like a starfish.  I left it there thinking I would do something with it one of these days...today is the day!  The background was made with Bazzill card stock and the Swirls Cutting Plate from Taylored Expressions.  Talk about an easy, no fuss background!

TAYLORED EXPRESSIONS JUNE SPOTLIGHTS: BEACH BORDER

Hey there, the Baker's Dozen is spotlighting projects today for the June Release.  Everything you've seen showcased our our blogs this week is available in the Fresh Out of the Oven section of the Taylored Expressions store.

I didn't get a chance to play with the Beach Border die so I couldn't resist...it was calling my name!  It screamed sunset to me so I broke out the sponges and got a little inky!  *grin*  I think I'll give this one to my hubby for his birthday.  We have friends that have property up the river where we like to camp...we've been going up there for years!  We have slowly cleared away most of the blackberries and my hubby and his buddy decided to put in a golf course (can you imagine!?!).  It's actually a lot of fun and a little challenging (partly because I'm not a golfer).  Anyway, most of the holes had names except the really long one.  It has been unnamed for a couple years now.  It was my turn to attempt to hit the ball to the green when my hubby said if I ever made it on that green, he would take me to Hawaii!  Yeah, baby!  We had witnesses so there was no way he could back out!  Whoop!  I've since named the hole Hawaii and I'm getting closer all the time!  I'm hoping by the end of summer to be making plane/hotel reservations!  *wink*

I thought I would share a couple pictures of our golf course...I did mention it was a little challenging...the challenging part is being able to find your ball in the daisies!  It will be much easier when they come in and hay!

Here is my hubby holding the golf ball he just found.  What's the old saying...it's like finding a needle in a haystack.  Um, yeah...it's just like that!  Ha!  Check it out...hubby is already wearing a Hawaiian shirt!  *snort*
