HOW YOU DOIN'?

Hey there, as promised yesterday, no poinsettias (although one would have looked good on this card!  *snort*).  Instead, I'm using a few snowflakes along with three of the new singles from Our Craft Lounge called Mr. Frosty, Mrs. Frosty and Frosty Flakes.  As soon as I saw this guy, I thought of Joey from the tv sitcom, Friends.  Do you remember how he would nod his head and smile at the pretty girls then say, "How you doin'?".  Cracks me up every time!

Here's the inside...a few simple snowflakes is all it needs.

HAPPY HOLIDAYS

Hey there, it's Black Friday...did you go out and do a little shopping?  I did!  I got a new chair for crafting.  OMGosh it's SOOO comfy!  Why in the world did I wait so long!?!

I'm still plugging away on my Christmas cards.  This one uses the Tweet Winter Wishes stamp set from Our Craft Lounge.  Is there anyone out there that can resist a cutie-pie snowman? I know I can't!  It seems to be the "year of the poinsettia" for me.  LOL!  I've used them several times already and have had a lot of fun coloring and coming up with different centers for them.  I think I'll shake it up a bit tomorrow and break out some snowflakes though.

MERRY FISH-MAS!

Hey there, I've been enjoying a couple vacation days before the holiday.  I intended to get a lot done towards my Christmas cards, but uh, well...you know how it goes sometimes!  *wink*

I've had Sea-sons Greetings from Our Craft Lounge sitting on my desk for a while when I saw a fun layout on Amy's blog, A Thousand Sheets of Paper.  I thought it would be perfect for an underwater scene.

PURRRRRFECT CHRISTMAS

Hey there, great news...last month I was invited to join the ladies at Pile It On! as a member of their Design Team. I'm staying with Our Craft Lounge though, so you will still see plenty of OCL images! LOL!

This is my fist post with PIO! and the challenge is All About "P". I had a lot of fun coming up with my list and OCL's Purr-fect Wishes was purr-fect for this challenge! My first P comes from a Tweety quote:

  • "I tawt I taw a puddy tat...I did, I did tee a puddy tat!"
  • Purr
  • Playing (with ribbon)
  • Peeking (out of the box)
  • Pair (two cats)
  • Present
  • Pink
  • Paper piecing
  • Poinsettia
  • Pearls
  • Popped up

Fun, huh? *grin* The cats were masked, colored with Copic markers, cut out and popped up on a Nestie die cut that was sponged with two shades of ink. The present was paper pieced and shaded with Copics. Several Magnolia Doohickeys dies were used to create the foliage. The poinsettia was assembled, pearls were added to the center and it was spritzed with Glimmer Mist (it shimmers in real life). Glossy Accents were applied to the berries and a clear Glaze pen was used on the cat's noses. I guess that's about it for this one.

Copic coloring:

Cats: R30, C4, C2, C0, C00 Scarf: YG61 Ribbon: R29, R27, R24, R22 Present: C4, C0 Foliage: YG67, YG63, YG61, R27, R24, R22, R01, 0 Inside image: R29, R27, R24, R22, R30, C4, C2, C0, C00, BG70, BG0000, YG61, Y15, Y00, W3, W2, W1, W00

TRADITIONAL CHRISTMAS

Hey there, I figured I better get a move on my Christmas cards if I wanted to send any out this year.  Quite a few need to go in the mail so I want to go with simple layouts on some of them.

This tree is from an Our Craft Lounge set called Ole St. Nick.  It reminds me of our tree growing up and I absolutely adore the Santa stamp in this set!  This is a super easy card...the tree was stamped on white card stock, colored with Copic markers, cut out then popped up on foam.  Clear Spica then clear Glaze pens were used on the ornaments to give them a little pop.  The background card stock was scored diagonally on a ScorPal.

Light sponging on the die cuts and background panel, rhinestones and ribbon from my stash complete the card.  It doesn't get much easier than this!  Now I need to get busy coloring panels for the new OCL Valentine's release.  Wait until you see the new stamps coming out...I can't wait to play with them!

Copic coloring:

Tree:  G21, G29, G28, G24, T4, T2  Ornaments:  R02, R08, R05  Inside image:  G21, G29, G28, G24, R02, R08, R05, T4, T2, T0

This project includes the following challenges:

JOY TO THE WORLD

Hey there, Just Us Girls (JUGs) is having a technique challenge that I've never done before, so I thought I would give it a try.  It's called Ghosting

I couldn't find any Glossy Paper in my stash, so I used Neenah.  I also used white pigment ink instead of VersaMark (like Lisa from JUGs suggested).  After the first layer of ink was sponged, I wasn't convinced it was going to work...but I kept going.  As the darker inks were applied, the images started popping.  It's really pretty cool and I'll definitely try this technique again!

The caroler is from an Our Craft Lounge single called Sing with Joy.   This stamp has a bunch of music notes and swirls all around it.  Since I only wanted the caroler as my image, masks were cut out of blue painter's tape.  With the tape in place, the stamp was inked.  Before it was stamped, the tape was removed.  Viola...only the section I wanted to use was stamped on the card stock!  I love using painter's tape...it holds well, doesn't leave any residue when removed and it's way cheaper than removable tape!
With the card stock still in the die, the image was stamped with white pigment ink then heat set. Three shades of blue were sponged (lightest to darkest).  Another caroler was stamped on white card stock, colored with Copic markers, cut out then popped up on foam.  Seam binding was dyed with the medium blue, fastened with a brad then attached to the card with a Zots.  Not an ideal location for the bow, but alas...fingerprints...need I say more?  The music notes are from a border punch.  I guess that's about it for this one.

Copic coloring:

Skin:  R30, E000, E01, E00  Mouth:  R30, R32  Hat/scarf:  B91, B95, B93, E42, E44, E43  Mittens:  B91, B97, B95, B93  Shirt:  E42, E49, E47, E44, E43  Pants:  B91, B99, B97, B95, B93  Boots:  E42, E49, E47, E44, E43  Book:  B63, BG000, BG70, 0

LET IT SNOW!

Hey there, I'm back from Vegas and OMGosh...The Eagles concert was AMAZING!  Hubby and I had such a great time, but we're definitely glad to be home!

I felt the need to get inky today, so I broke out Penguin Fun from Our Craft Lounge.  It's such a cute set and colors up really quick!  There's also no shimmer or shine on this card (so unlike me *ha*)...no dry time!  I used the SC358 sketch from SCS.  What a really fun layout!

I wanted to do something a little different on my background card stock so I used die cut snowflakes in the same color and glued them down.  I trimmed one to make it appear as if it is off the edge.  Rhinestones and a twine bow complete the card.

Copic coloring:

OLE ST. NICK

Hey there, I'm back with my last card for the Hope You Can Cling To card drive through Splitcoast Stampers!  In honor of Halloween, Lydia's final challenge, It's a Costume Party!, was to "disguise" ourselves in a stamping style that is not our own.    Hmmm...I have a style???  Uh, not really sure what that is, but I know what I'm definitely not...a one-layer card person...bring on the layers, I say!  LOL!

Isn't this an absolutely beautiful Santa?  He's definitely a fav of mine!  He's from an Our Craft Lounge set called Ole St. Nick.  He was stamped on Gina K card stock because no matter what, there isn't bleed through...even using red as the main color!  I "NEEDED" to spruce it up a bit so I broke down and scored some lines.  I had to do something, right?!?  It was everything I could do to not break out the rhinestones, ribbon or twine!  Since there isn't much to this card, there really isn't anything to talk about.  *grin*  Tomorrow I'll make sure I have envelopes for everything and get my care package in the mail to Texas.  I'm so glad I was able to participate in all of the challenges this year!  Thanks SCS!!!

LOVE YOU

Hey there, I was able to find some time this morning to work on one of the last cards for the Hope You Can Cling To card drive through Splitcoast Stampers.  To be honest with you, this one had me shaking in my boots!  Patty's challenge, It Touches All of Us, is to create a pink collage.  Yikes, right?

I have never done this technique before but hey, I lived through it!  Actually, it wasn't as bad as I thought it would be.  I used a wonderful set from Our Craft Lounge called Love Notes.  This is another one that I'm sad to see retire!  I started by rubbing an embossing buddy all over my white card stock then stamping hearts and flourishes randomly with VersaMark then embossing them with clear embossing powder.

A Stamp-a-ma-jig was used to line up and stamp the script in black and the word "love" was stamped randomly in dark pink.  The entire thing was sponged with light pink, cut into 1 1/4" squares then dark pink was sponged on the edges.  A circle was cut then a heart was punched from a sticky note to use as a reverse mask.  The mask was taped into place, sponged with light then dark pink and the script was stamped over the top.  The mask was removed and the words "Love You" was stamped in dark pink across the entire image.  While the circle was still in the die, light pink was sponged around the outside.

This project includes the following challenges:

Creative Card Crew ~ Fallin' for You
Heart Song Inspirations ~ Embossing and/or 3 or More Layers
STAMPtacular Sunday Challenge ~ Borders & Frames
The Corrosive Challenge Blog ~ With a Flourish
Wags 'n Whiskers ~ Black Plus Ribbon or Pearls
