BAZZILL PRODUCT SWAP - HAPPY FATHER'S DAY!

Hey there, I'm super excited to be participating in a product swap between Taylored Expressions and Bazzill Basics.  Woot woot!  I absolutely LOVE Bazzill and use their cardstock on just about every project!  They have awesome pattern papers too!

My project today is to honor all those dads out there.  I started by punching a 1" circle sticky note mask for the sun then masking the horizon.  I sponged Dandelion, Cantaloupe, Peanut Brittle, Potter's Clay and Lady Bug for the sky.  The circle mask was removed and Dandelion and Cantaloupe were sponged on the sun.  A new mask was put into place to cover the sky and another jagged mask was torn for the sand.  Summer Sky, Bahama Blue and Paris Dusk were sponged for the water.  The masks were removed and Desert Sand was sponged on the bottom.  A Sakura White Glaze pen was used to dot the surf where the chairs were going to be and to draw lines in the ocean (waves).  The chairs are from A Day in Paradise (love this set!).  They were stamped with Tuxedo Black, colored with Copic markers then fussy cut.  Before they were glued to the panel, Copic markers were used to create shadows in the sand.  A sailor's knot and sentiment tag complete the card.

Here's a close up pic of the knot...

TAYLORED EXPRESSIONS MAY SPOTLIGHTS - BIRCH TREE BORDER & BIRCH TREE ACCESSORIES

Hey there, whew...what an exciting week of awesome projects from the Baker's Dozen, huh?  The May release is now available in the Fresh out of the Oven section of the Taylored Expressions store.  Go check it out!  Hubby and I both have the day off, so we thought we would go for a drive and pick up our hanging baskets for the house.  It's 1 1/2 hours one way...but they always have beautiful flowers to choose from at great prices...totally worth the drive!

Before I go, I thought I would share one last card made with dies from the new release.  I'm in love with the Birch Tree Border die!  It's an easy way to make a masculine card and I've got a bunch of guy birthdays coming up so this die couldn't have come at a better time!  Even better...the Birch Tree Accessories!  Those guy birthdays I was just talking about...a bunch of them are hunters so I think they will really get a kick out of these cards.  To make this moonlit night card, a layer of Sweet Plum was sponged over the entire card stock before a negative mask (1 1/4" circle punch) was placed over the moon area.  Elderberry and London Fog were lightly sponged onto the moon.  The negative mask was removed and the punched circle was placed directly over the moon and Elderberry was sponged around the moon and the outsides of the card stock.  The die cuts were adhered over the sponged panel...that's all there is to it!  Easy peasy!

TAYLORED EXPRESSIONS MAY RELEASE DAY: CURLY SWIRLIES

Hey there, woohooooo...Happy Release Day!  The girls have really outdone themselves with this release...everyone's projects have been AMAZING!  Don't forget that starting today, all of the new dies and stamps are available for purchase in the Fresh out of the Oven section of the Taylored Expressions store.  Happy shopping!

I was given the task of creating two totally different projects using the same Curly Swirlies die.  Whoop whoop, I love this die...it's so elegant and could be used for so many different things!  This tag was simple and so fun to create!  A girl just NEEDS to get inky once in a while!  *grin*  The Tag Stacklets 1 die was used to cut two tags...one from card stock and the other from Bazzill's Antique Sheet Music then they were adhered together (the music paper was a little thin so the card stock was used for stability).  The swirls were cut from Copic Mask It and positioned on the tag before four colors of Memento ink were sponged and the masks removed.  The seam binding bow was died to match the top portion of the tag and a butterfly (Elegant Butterflies and Elegant Butterflies Overlays) with rhinestones that were colored with Copic markers finish the tag.  I decided not to go with a sentiment for now.  When I figure out what I want to use this for, I'll stamp/die cut a sentiment to attach to the top.

My good friend's nephew is getting married this summer so I wanted to make a card for him.  I think there's something really, really classy about a white on white wedding card, dont you?  OMGosh, I broke out so many dies to make this!  Ready for the rundown?  Fleur De Lis Accents from Spellbinders was used for the border and topped with the new Curly Swirlies die.  Die cut flowers from Friendship Blooms, Mini Leaves, Bugabee Flowers and even Flowerbox Sprigs & Flowers were used to create the beautiful cluster.  The flowers were shaped with a stylus, soft/spongy pad and tweezers.  I really love the look of dimensional flowers!  They are so much fun to create not to mention how amazing they look!  The sentiment is from the new Lifetime of Love stamp set and was die cut using the Tag Stacklets 1 die.  A corner of the tag was curled under and popped up on foam to give it a little shape.  A Sparklet makes a beautiful center for the big flower and silver rhinestones were used for the smaller flowers then a few extras were scattered around the card.  I just LOVE making wedding cards!  It's such a special occasion and deserves a special card!
