DTGD15TammieE - REMEMBERING MOM

Hey there, are you ready for a week of Dare To Get Dirty creations?  Splitcoaststampers Dirty Girls, past and present, have come up with some amazing challenges!  If you want to know specific challenge details, you need to become a Fan Club member if you aren't already.

I created this card as a tribute to my mom who lost her battle with cancer eight months ago.  I miss her every day, and well, this sentiment from My Favorite Things pretty much says it all!

So...this card is for my very own challenge!  I absolutely adore Susan's Gardens flower dies...they look so realistic!  The sponging and popped up frame are exactly what this card needed.  The ladybug was made using Viva paints and was the perfect finishing touch.
Here's a side view so you can really see the dimension.  So pretty!

Thanks for stopping by!

MISS YOU ALREADY!

Hey there, I recently purchased some digital images from Tiddly Inks and I couldn't wait to color this little cutie.  She was printed on Neenah, colored with Copic markers then cut using the Out-of-the-Box with a Nestie technique.  Her hands were printed a second time, fussy cut then adhered to the popped up banner.  The bow was paper pieced and colored with Copics for a little extra depth (kinda hard to see on the brown paper).  The gorgeous fall paper is from Doodlebug Designs...you'll be seeing it again really soon!  *wink*

HERE KITTY, KITTY

Hey there, I'm back again with another Hope You Can Cling To challenge card in support of breast cancer patients and their families.  Patricia's "Think P-I-N-K" challenge was a fun one!  She wanted us to think about pink a little differently by creating a card using products, images, sentiments or techniques that begin with the letters PINK.  Here are mine:

P = purr, pink, princess, precious
I = ink, inked edges
N = Nestabilities, new stamp set, napping, nestled
K = Kit the Kat, kittens

Fun, huh?  This is a new set for me called Kit the Kat and it's from Our Craft Lounge.  It's on the retiring list (40% off in the OCL online store) so I hurried and got mine before they sold out.  I'm glad I did...they colored up really fast and they are just adorable!  I started by stamping the sitting kitten on white card stock then used the Out-of-the-Box with a Nestie technique to cut out it's tail.

The sleeping cat and yarn were stamped, colored with Copic markers, cut out then popped up on foam. Twine was used to tie a bow and attach the charm. It's funny, this charm came in a set with seashells and I remember thinking to myself what am I going to do with that fish bone...it was actually the first one I used!  I decided not to use a sentiment inside or out so it could be used for just about anything.  A Clear Glaze pen was used on the kitty's little noses and also the gems on the collar.  I guess that's about it for this one.

Cats:  W4, W3, W2, W1, W00, RV11, 0  Yarn (inside and out):  RV11, RV10

AIN'T NO SUNSHINE...

Hey there stampers, I'm back with another May Arts product swap card.  As soon as I saw the polka dot ribbon, I immediately grabbed Sunshine Cheer from Our Craft Lounge.  I absolutely love this set because of the super cute images and it's versatility.  I saw Croppixie's card in the SCS gallery and wanted to do something similar.  There isn't an awful lot to it, but I kind of like how it turned out.

Three sizes of Nesties were used to cut a frame out of white card stock and designer paper.  A border punch was used on the orange layer before it was embossed.  The images were stamped in black ink and colored with Copic markers.  The frame was popped up and the sun was cut out then tucked behind it.
Spica pens were used on the hearts and sun so they shimmer and the charm was attached to the May Arts ribbon with twine.  While I was taking pictures, it hit me...I forgot the Glossy Accents on my ladybug friend...D'oh!  Of course, I had to stop everything and add some, right!?!  NOW my card is complete!  LOL!  I hope you stop back tomorrow for a little more summer fun.

In the mean time, head on over to The Lounge and May Arts Ribbon Blog to see what the other designers have been up to.  Don't forget...there are lots of chances to win some blog candy so don't forget to leave some love along the way.  It's easy...every day, leave comments on:
  • The OCL blog,
  • on each participating designer's blogs (the complete list can be found on the OCL blog), and
  • on OCL's Facebook page for a *bonus entry*.  If you "like" OCL on FB, you will get an extra entry if you let them know you did it.
