CAS363 - HI, FRIEND!

Hey there, I'm popping in with this week's CAS challenge, Round and Round...to use circles on our projects.  I actually colored this last year for one of Kia's challenges, but wasn't feeling the layout so I set it aside and kind of forgot about it.  This challenge reminded me that it would be nice to blow the dust off and get it finished!  LOL

The image was stamped with Tuxedo Black onto Neenah Solar White then colored with Copic markers.  Instead of going "Out of the Box" with the flower, I stamped it a second time, colored it with Copics, fussy cut it then glued it directly over the top of the tag.  Out of the Box for cheaters!  Ha   The butterfly was created the same way.  The fun sketch was a recent one by My Favorite Things, Sketch #268.

COPIC COLORING:
MUSHROOM:  R59, YR18, YR15, YR31, W3, W1, W00  MOUSE:  W5, W3, W1, W00  EARS, PAWS, BELLY:  R30, R00, R0000, W00  FLOWER, BUTTERFLY:  V17, V15, V12, RV10, R59, YR18, YR15, YR31  SKY:  B00, BG0000  GROUND:  G21, G20

CAS364 - EASTER MARCH

Hey there, it's that time again...SCS's CAS challenge.  Lee wanted us to make a card with elements to spell out the word LOVE.  Even though I only needed one of each, my friends and I had fun trying to find as many things as possible, so here's what we came up with:

L:  lamb, line, legs, lifting (baton and legs), leader, little (chick), leaves, lavender
O:  orange, oval (egg), out-of-the -box, outside, order (biggest to smallest)
V:  Vinca Minor aka Periwinkle (die cut flower), vine, violet, vanilla (lamb's face), vest, vertical (card orientation), vivid colors
E:  egg, end (of the line), elevated (baton and legs), enjoy, exercising, ears, eyes, Easter, embellishment

Here's a close up of the flower.  I turned a My Favorite Things Layered Rose into a Vinca Minor vine...more commonly known as Periwinkle.  Love those pretty, little flowers!

CAS363 - TROPICAL LOVE SHAKER

Hey there, here's card number two for this week's CAS challenge, Won't You Call Me Sweetheart.  This is such an adorable image from Whipper Snapper Designs!  I decided to make a shaker card for this one.

The fish were stamped with Tuxedo Black onto Neenah Solar White then colored with Copic makers.  I have to confess...the bottom red heart bled out.  No amount of Colorless Blender was going to fix that mess!  I was too far along with the image to scrap it though.  The background water was colored a little heavier in that area to cover it up.  Not too bad though, you can barely see where it went out of the line!  Whew!

COPIC COLORING:
GIRL FISH:  R85, R83, R81, Y11, Y00, YG03  BOY FISH:  YR18, YR15, YR12, Y11, Y00, YG03  SEAWEED:  YG67, YG03, YG0000  SAND:  E57, E55, E51  HEARTS:  R24, R22, R21  WATER:  B52, BG11, BG70

CAS360 - SNOWY GIFT

Hey there, I'm back with another card for the SCS CAS challenge, ice and/or snow.  Seriously...WSD has THE cutest snowmen ever!  I'm so glad I finally got to ink Baymont up!

This cutie pie was stamped with Tuxedo Black onto Neenah Solar White then colored with Copic markers.  I'm not sure why the die cut appears to be a circle...it really is an oval.  Weird, huh?  Love the new scallops from My Favorite Things!  *swoon*  It really doesn't get much easier than this as far as layouts go!  I cut two strips then colored them with Copic markers to match the red in the image.  A single snowflake with a silver rhinestone colored with R43 completes the card.

COPIC COLORING:
SNOWMAN, SNOW:  BG70, BV20  CARROT NOSE:  YR18, YR15, YR12  HAT:  C6, C4, C2, C0, R56, R46, R43  BUCKLE:  Y28, Y26, Y23  SCARF, MITTENS:  E55, E53, E51, G46, G43, G40  HOLLY/BERRIES:  G46, G43, G40  GIFT:  E55, E53, E51, R56, R46, R43

CAS360 - FROSTY'S FRIEND

Hey there, I missed playing in Splitcoaststampers CAS challenge last week because I was at CHA (Craft & Hobby Association) in Anaheim, California!  What a great time...we were super busy, and sooo very tired.  Good times, lots of laughs!  This week's challenge is all about snow and ice.  I couldn't decide between two cutie patootie snowmen from Whipper Snapper Designs; so, I used them both and made two cards!  LOL

This first card uses Snowman Harmony.  The image was stamped with Tuxedo Black onto Neenah Solar White then colored with Copic markers.  I kept the layout super basic.  A die cut flag was colored with Copics to tie into the image and a few snowflakes is all this card needs.  Wink of Stella adds a little shimmer to the shadows of the snowman and a clear glaze pen was used on the candy canes, holly berries, reindeer's nose and hoofs.

COPIC COLORING:
SNOWMAN, SNOW:  BG70, BV20  CARROT NOSE:  YR18, YR15  HAT, GLOVES:  C6, C4, C2, C0, E55, E53, E51, R56, R46, R43, G46, G43, G40  BUCKLE:  Y28, Y26, Y23  VEST:  C6, C4, C2, C0, E55, E53, E51  SCARFS:  E55, E53, E51, R56, R46, R43, G46, G43, G40  HOLLY/BERRIES:  G46, G43, G40, R56, R46, R43  REINDEER:  E57, E55, E53, E51, C6, C4, C2, C0

CAS356 - SNOW WILSON

Hey there, it's time for this week's CAS challenge, Some People are Worth Melting For, to use a snowman on your project.  I've had Tom & Jerry from Whipper Snapper Designs for a while and have been hoping to ink it up.  Do you remember that old tv show, Tool Time?  This stamp totally reminded me of when Wilson, the neighbor, would peek over the fence to talk with the Taylors'.  *grin*  The fun layout is Freshly Made Sketches #217 and was perfect for this image!  I'm also entering this into the Color Throwdown #373 ~ Any Christmas Creation, Any Colors.

The image was stamped with Tuxedo Black onto Neenah Solar White, colored with Copic markers then fussy cut and set aside.  The bottom portion of the background panel was masked, liquid masking fluid was spritzed and after it dried, Summer Sky was sponged then the liquid mask was removed revealing a snow-filled sky.  The snowman/bird were glued to the back of the fence then popped up on foam.  A Copic Multiliner was used to complete the snowman's mouth because it showed behind the "dog-eared" fence.

COPIC COLORING:
SNOWMAN, SNOW:  BV20, BG70  NOSE:  C6, C4, C2, C0  TOP HAT:  C6, C4, C2, C0, B37, B34, B32, R56, R46, R43  BUCKLE, BELL, BEAK, FEET:  Y28, Y26, Y23  BIRD:  B37, B34, B32  HAT:  R56, R46, R43, C2, C0

CAS351 - INLAID THANKS

Hey there, I'm back with card number two for today's Fall Foliage CAS challenge over at Splitcoaststampers.  I'm using another super cute Whipper Snapper Designs image called Thurston.  Seriously cute squirrel, if I do say so myself!

The image was stamped with Tuxedo Black onto Neenah Solar White then colored with Copic markers.  "Thanks" was die cut right over the top of the image, and the pieces were set aside.  Thanks was die cut four more times, layered and glued into place.  The original die cut pieces were glued over the top of the others to complete the "inlay" process.

CAS348 - HAPPY TURKEY DAY!

Hey there, it's time for this week's CAS challenge at Splitcoaststampers.  We're supposed to use acetate on our Thanksgiving or Christmas projects.  Perfect time for a shaker card, huh?  I colored this adorable turkey from Whipper Snapper Designs a couple weeks ago and was pretty happy to finally be able to use him on a project!  I have lots and lots of pictures of how I got the dimension on Terrance, so put your feet up and enjoy!  *grin*

Terrance Turkey was stamped with Tuxedo Black onto Neenah Solar White four times.

In step one...you can see that everything was given a quick coat.  I like to do a little color in case someone is looking in between the layers, but I don't spend a lot of time on the parts that won't show.  Since the feathers are the only part that will show at this stage, I took my time and shaded them then fussy cut the whole thing.
Step two...the body has shading and will show once the pieces are stacked while everything else has a quick coat of color.  It was fussy cut omitting the feathers.
Step three...the face and wings are shaded while everything else has a quick coat.  You can see how the different sections were fussy cut.
Step four...last but not least.  The hat, beak and feet were all colored, shaded then fussy cut.
Here are all the pieces so you can see the different stages at a glance.  Thin foam squares were used to layer the pieces.  Creating dimension is always fun...a lot of work, but definitely worth it when it's done!

CAS347 - SAY CHEESE, FRANKIE!

Hey there, it's my turn to host the CAS challenge at Splitcoaststampers.  I found a super cool picture on Pinterest, so it's an inspiration challenge for this week!  With any luck, I'll have some time to create a couple more cards for this week's challenge.  I just LOVE Whipper Snapper Designs Halloween images!

Frankie was stamped with Tuxedo Black onto Neenah Solar White, colored with Copic markers, fussy cut then popped up on foam.  The grass and dirt layers were cut with My Favorite Things Snow Drifts then colored with Copics.  Each of the layers were separated with foam squares for added dimension.  The black silhouette is from Impression Obsession.  It's an awesome die for Halloween cards!  The sky was colored with Copics to finish the card.

COPIC COLORING:

CAS345 - LET IT SNOW

Hey there, I'm a little late posting my card for yesterday's CAS (clean and simple) challenge, CAS-ing HYCCT (Hope You Can Cling To).  We were supposed to find one of the HYCCT challenges and make it CAS.  I chose Lydia's Whatever the Weather challenge.  She wanted us to make a card representing our LEAST favorite weather condition...hands down it's snow for me!  Um, yeah...pass!

This adorable snowman, Sawyer, is from Whipper Snapper Designs.  It was stamped three times with Tuxedo Black onto Neenah Solar white, colored with Copic markers, fussy cut then popped up on foam.  Cool layout, huh?  It's Sweet Sunday Sketch Challenge #289.

COPIC COLORING:

CAS342 - PEEK-A-BOO!

Hey there, my pumpkin for today's Splitcoaststampers CAS challenge comes in the form of a jack-o-lantern.  I love Halloween and I really love Whipper Snapper Designs Halloween images!  This little peek-a-boo kitty is stinking adorable!

*Confession time*  I've been a collector of stencils for a while now, but not so much of a user.  I decided today was the day to change that!  I used a checkerboard stencil from My Favorite Things and sponged some Pistachio ink onto it then removed the stencil and sponged more Pistachio ink.  I kind of like it!  I will definitely be playing with more stencils in the future!

The image was stamped with Tuxedo Black onto Neenah Solar White, colored with Copic markers, fussy cut then the pumpkin was glued down while the leaves and cat were popped up on foam for a little added dimension.  Die cut leaves were colored to tie into the image then shaped with a Susan's Garden tool kit.  The button looks a little dark, but in real life it perfectly matches the purple on the hat.

COPIC COLORING:

CAS341 - DIGBY

Hey there, Happy Labor Day!  I'm popping in with a card for this week's CAS challenge, Hale to Your Almamater.  Joyce is challenging us to use our high school colors or a school theme.  I went with the classic red, white and black for my high school colors!

Digby, from Whipper Snapper Designs, is pretty perfect for this color combo!  He was stamped with Tuxedo Black onto Neenah Solar White then colored with Copic markers.  A clear glaze pen was used on his nose for a nice, subtle shine.  Easy peasy layout and a button with twine bow completes the card.

CAS339 - BOO

Hey there, I'm popping in with a card I made for this week's CAS challenge, Tag It, at Splitcoaststampers.  Kia wanted us to make a tag or include a tag on our projects...but not Christmas.  I decided on a super cute Halloween image from Whipper Snapper Designs called Mummy's Buddies.

The image was stamped with Tuxedo Black onto Neenah Solar White then colored with Copic markers.  Just the cat was stamped a second time on a tag that was cut using a Tag Builder Blueprints die from My Favorite Things.
