SB - HAPPY HALLOWEEN

Hey there, so happy to be back again for this round of Wonderful Wednesdays with Stampingbella.  Today I chose this A-Mazing Halloween image...The Wizard, The Witch and the Cauldron Chicks!  Those chicks are always getting into trouble...yikes!

They were stamped with Tuxedo Black onto Neenah Solar White then colored with Copic markers.  Three weeks in and I think I finally got the hang of those markers again!  LOL  I kept the card extremely CAS (clean and simple).  I figured the background paper was bold, bright and super busy but not busy enough to distract from the image.  Anything else would have been overkill.  However, I couldn't resist adding Spectrum Noir Clear Overlay to the "spell" and potion for a nice, subtle shine.   Love, love love that glitter pen!  It's just clear sparkle without gold undertones.  It's a must have, for sure!  I also used a clear glaze pen for the chick's glasses.  It really is the little details that make all the difference!

COPIC COLORING:
CHICKS:  Y17, Y15, Y02, Y00  BEAK, FEET: YR18, YR15, YR12  CAPE, HAT:  V17, V15, V12, B02  SPELL, POTION:  YG17, YG03, YG21  CAULDRON, STOOL:  C6, C4, C2, C0  GROUND:  C4, C2, C0  GLASSES:  Y15, Y02, Y00, BG70

Thanks for stopping by...I'll be back next week with my final Wonderful Wednesdays  project!

DID I SCARE YOU BANNER

Hey there, sadly, this will be my last Copic class at Memories of Time in Coos Bay.  The store is closing.  *sniff*  In case anyone is interested, I'm considering having classes in my new crafty space once we move and get settled...we are buying another house and expect (fingers crossed) to close October 26th!  I'm trying to be patient, but it's super hard!  *wink*

Now onto my project...I wanted to create a Halloween banner using some C.C. Designs images and dies.  I love, Love, LOVE how it turned out!  Pictures just don't do this one justice!  The super cute trick-or-treaters were stamped with Tuxedo Black onto Neenah Solar White, die cut then colored with Copic markers.  Oh, how I've missed coloring!  CCD's banner dies and jumbo alphabets are absolutely perfect for a project like this!  Now that I've got this one done, I want to make more!  LOL

This first panel uses an Impression Obsession haunted house border die that I thought would be perfect teamed up with the witch.  It was cut twice...first in black glitter card stock then in Neenah.  The glitter card stock was getting lost in the starry night sky, so I decided to offset it with white creating a shadow.  It worked!

Here's a close up.

The second panel is super simple.  Taylored Expressions spiders and spiderweb along with the first letter is really all it needed.  I could have colored more of the CCD kids, but I didn't want it to be too busy.
Moving on, I think this is my favorite panel!  That little guy belly laughing is seriously the cutest!  Keeping with the "shadow effect", I went ahead and cut all of the letters twice as well.

Another close up.
Next up, one more basic panel.  Again, another Taylored Expressions spider web.  Taylor's ghosts were the perfect size and they look awesome peeking around the last of the letters.

Last up we have our little batty friend.  Another Impression Obsession die gives the perfect backdrop to this little one running from the haunted graveyard.  OMGosh, too cute!

Last close up.

CAS347 - SAY CHEESE, FRANKIE!

Hey there, it's my turn to host the CAS challenge at Splitcoaststampers.  I found a super cool picture on Pinterest, so it's an inspiration challenge for this week!  With any luck, I'll have some time to create a couple more cards for this week's challenge.  I just LOVE Whipper Snapper Designs Halloween images!

Frankie was stamped with Tuxedo Black onto Neenah Solar White, colored with Copic markers, fussy cut then popped up on foam.  The grass and dirt layers were cut with My Favorite Things Snow Drifts then colored with Copics.  Each of the layers were separated with foam squares for added dimension.  The black silhouette is from Impression Obsession.  It's an awesome die for Halloween cards!  The sky was colored with Copics to finish the card.

COPIC COLORING:
SKIN:  YG67, YG17, YG03  HAIR, T-SHIRT, BAGS UNDER EYES:  C6, C4, C2, C0  JACKET:  E77, E74, E71, E70  PUMPKIN:  YR18, YR15, YR12, E77, E74, E71, E70, YG67, YG17, YG03, C6, C4, C2, C0  GRASS:  YG67, UG17, YG03  DIRT:  E77, E74, E71, E70  SKY:  C6, C4, C2, C0

CAS342 - PEEK-A-BOO!

Hey there, my pumpkin for today's Splitcoaststampers CAS challenge comes in the form of a jack-o-lantern.  I love Halloween and I really love Whipper Snapper Designs Halloween images!  This little peek-a-boo kitty is stinking adorable!

*Confession time*  I've been a collector of stencils for a while now, but not so much of a user.  I decided today was the day to change that!  I used a checkerboard stencil from My Favorite Things and sponged some Pistachio ink onto it then removed the stencil and sponged more Pistachio ink.  I kind of like it!  I will definitely be playing with more stencils in the future!

The image was stamped with Tuxedo Black onto Neenah Solar White, colored with Copic markers, fussy cut then the pumpkin was glued down while the leaves and cat were popped up on foam for a little added dimension.  Die cut leaves were colored to tie into the image then shaped with a Susan's Garden tool kit.  The button looks a little dark, but in real life it perfectly matches the purple on the hat.

COPIC COLORING:
PUMPKIN:  YR18, YR15, YR12, YR00  HAT:  C6, C4, C2, C0, V17, V15, V12, Y15, Y11, Y00  CAT:  C6, C4, C2, C0, R30, R00, R000  CAT'S COLLAR:  V17, V15, V12  GRASS:  YG95, YG93,  YG91  LEAVES:  YG93, YR15, YR12, Y00

I'm entering this into the NBUS Challenge #5...MFT stencil and this image are both new.

CAS339 - BOO

Hey there, I'm popping in with a card I made for this week's CAS challenge, Tag It, at Splitcoaststampers.  Kia wanted us to make a tag or include a tag on our projects...but not Christmas.  I decided on a super cute Halloween image from Whipper Snapper Designs called Mummy's Buddies.

The image was stamped with Tuxedo Black onto Neenah Solar White then colored with Copic markers.  Just the cat was stamped a second time on a tag that was cut using a Tag Builder Blueprints die from My Favorite Things.

BOO

Hey there, I had some time to color yesterday and I couldn't wait to ink up Whipper Snapper Designs Pumpkin Snowman.  I had a blast coloring this adorable image!  See that orange panel at the top?  It was inspired by this amazing card by Sandy Allnock.  I've used my Copics to color large spaces in the past, so why not color a "faux paper panel" to make everything matchy matchy?  I'll definitely be doing this technique again!

The stitched panel was cut using My Favorite Things Blueprints 15...I'm hooked on that die right now!  The image was stamped with Tuxedo Black onto  Neenah Solar White then colored with Copic markers.  Sakura Clear Glaze gives the kitty's nose a nice, subtle shine.  Black twine was wrapped around the panel and a Tim Holtz stencil was used to sponge the sentiment on a die cut from the Blueprints 15 set.  LOVE!  The panel was popped up on foam to finish it off.  Easy peasy!

MONSTER MASH TREAT BAGS

Hey there, sooo, what's everyone doing for World Card Making Day?  I'll be hanging out with the girls at Memories of Time (MOT) celebrating the store's "Grand Re-Opening".  The store sold a few months ago, and we're super excited that Rhea bought it!  She's determined to keep it "Our Happy Place"...woohoo, Rhea!  So if you're going to be on the Oregon Coast this weekend...stop by and hang out with us!

My project for the Make-N-Takes will be these fun treat bags from Taylored Expressions.  Super cute, huh?

Gotta love how adorable the bat is!  The wings are easily shaped with fingers and can even be pulled in tighter around the body.  So fun!

Here's Frankie!  He was a lot of fun to make.  His face can literally be made up so many different ways it's unbelievable!

I know the monster isn't necessarily for Halloween...but done up in orange and purples and it totally screams Halloween!  And how about that plaid tongue!?!

Whatever you do on World Card Making Day, I hope it's crafty!  Thanks for stopping by!

WHOOO WANTS CANDY?

Hey there, I absolutely LOVE Karen's Sweet Sunday Sketch this week and thought Hoot & Pumpkin from Whipper Snapper Designs would be perfect!  I did end up taking a couple liberties with it though...I omitted the banner and added that awesome flying bat!

I teamed the sketch up with my all time favorite night sky pattern paper from Graphic 45.  I think it came out last year, but I can't remember.  *confession time*  I bought a bunch of the paper and I've been hoarding it...but I know I'm not the only one that does that, so I'm ok with it!  *grin*  The image was stamped with Tuxedo Black onto Neenah Solar White card stock, colored with Copic markers, fussy cut then popped up on foam.  I have to tell you...I'm beyond thrilled with how the moon turned out!  Although I'm pretty comfortable with my Copics, I still experiment and learn new things about coloring all the time!  I was trying to match up the moon coloring to the stars in the paper.  They are sort of a creamy, yellowish color and I thought I was way wrong with my marker choices...but I did it anyway and it worked!  It matched perfectly!  Whoop!

Here's a side view so you can see the dimension the bat gives the card.  Love!

Hmmm...my close up looks a tad blurry.  Sorry about that!  No time to take more pictures.  I need to get going to work now.  Ugh!

TOO CUTE TO SPOOK!

Hey there, I had some time to color another Halloween card.  This is Gilley, from Whipper Snapper Designs.  Adorable, right!?!  I just love a kitty with a little, pink nose!  Our neighbor's cat has a pink nose, and we have affectionately nicknamed him LoverBoy.  He's just the sweetest little thing...next to our Gypsy, of course!

Gilley was stamped with Tuxedo Black onto Neenah Solar White then colored with Copic markers.  OMGosh...I am totally in LOVE with My Favorite Things' Blueprints dies.  The stitched edging adds the perfect touch to a CAS (clean and simple) card!  The sentiment was computer generated...here's a close up so you can see the detail.  How awesome is that font with the spidy webs and creepy crawlies on it!?!  *grin*

In case you're reading the supply list below and you're wondering where I used Scor-Tape...did you know you could make any die cut into a sticker with a little bit of Scor-Tape?  It's my new favorite thing to do.  Just run a piece of Scor-Tape on the back of the card stock, place it in your die cutting machine and the die will cut through both the paper and the adhesive.  Pick out the little pieces then pull it off the backing sheet and viola...instant sticker!  Gotta love that!

HOCUS POCUS

Hey there, I've got a Halloween card to share with you today.  The image is Hazel, from Whipper Snapper Designs.  Be careful not to stare at her too long...she might cast a spell on you!  Ha!

The image was stamped with Tuxedo Black onto Neenah Solar White card stock then colored with Copic markers.  You can't tell in the pictures, but the all of their eyes, the cat's nose and the witch's fingernails have clear glaze for a nice, subtle shine...and the "spell" (green glow) has Clear Wink of Stella glitter pen on it.  I also used the lightest green marker on her hands and a bit on the sleeves of her shirt.  The sentiment was computer generated...love that font for Halloween!

I'M UNDER YOUR SPELL

Hey there, it just dawned on me that I never blogged about the rest of my projects for the Dare to Get Dirty challenges at Splitcoaststampers.  Even though DTGD is over, I'll go ahead and pop in and share those with you soon, so watch for them.

Anywhoo...I colored this weekend!  I couldn't resist Birdie Brown's adorable "Witch Way is the Candy?" stamp set!  *sigh*  I love Halloween!  I also used MFT's awesome Cheesecloth Background...see it back there?  LOVE!  I cut the little, dangling spider out of the Spooky Window frame so there would be plenty of space for the frog.  Seriously loved coloring these little cuties!  The layout is this week's MFT card sketch, 190, flipped on it's side.

TAYLORED EXPRESSIONS SEPTEMBER SPOTLIGHTS: A SPOOKY VIEW

Hey there, all 21 of the new Taylored Expressions  stamps and dies from the September Release are available for purchase.  Release Week may be coming to an end, but the Big Birthday Bash will still continue all month long with awesome prizes up for grabs...you won't want to miss it!  Today's game is Guess the Number, and you can find details on Taylor's Blog...did I mention prizes?  Head on over and check it out!

I have a spotlight project to share with you today.  I love creating scenes with the window dies but wasn't able to play with this earlier in the week...so I thought I would do it today.  It's pretty awesome that the Labels Stacklets 5 dies coordinates with the Gothic Window!  The Gothic Window was die cut, air brushed then stamped with Tuxedo Black.  The die cut pieces were laid into the window frame then the layers popped up on foam.  The bats from the Gothic Window Accessories were die cut then added to the window scene.  Die cuts from Spooky Fence Border and Windy Tree complete the card.
