Hey there, happy Monday...it's happy because I took the day off of work. Ha! I've got a couple things going on today. For starters, it's my birthday and I can't possibly think of a better way to spend it than hopping along with my Our Craft Lounge friends in support of breast cancer awareness month! So how about a little blog candy? OCL is giving away Granny's Support Team and two jars of pink Sparkly Fluff to one lucky winner! Leave comments on all of the participating blogs including the OCL blog, and a winner will be selected tomorrow.
OK, now onto my card! All month long I've been participating in the Hope You Can Cling To card drive sponsored by Splitcoast Stampers. If you want to check out some of my other projects, click on the "Breast Cancer Awareness" link on my side bar. At the end of the month, all of the cards that I've made will be mailed to the UT MD Anderson Cancer Center in Houston, Texas and will go to breast cancer patients and their families. What a great cause, huh? Jessica's challenge, Pink Ribbon, has become a universal symbol of support for breast cancer awareness. That's why she wants us to use a pink ribbon on our cards.

I absolutely LOVE to combine sets! This card uses three OCL sets: Pat the Dog, Pat the Dawg House and Granny's Support Team. Pat the Dog (in clear only) is on the retiring list and can be purchase in the OCL store for 40% off while supplies last. The other two can be purchased at Memories of Time. When you check out, use the code "Check Us Out" and receive 20% off your entire purchase! Pretty sweet deal, huh? If you're lucky enough to live on the Oregon Coast and can stop by the store, Michelle is having a 40% off special plus an additional 10% off on selected items. If you're interested, links to both stores are in the "Supplies" section at the bottom of this post.

Pat was stamped on white card stock and colored with Copic markers. The Out-of-the-Box with a Nestie technique was used (again). The paw prints on the sentiment was made by coloring on the stamp then "huffing". The ribbon was colored with an R00 Copic marker to match my project. A charm was added and button with twine bow completes the card. I guess that's it for this one...now go forth and hop!
Don't forget to leave comments along the way for a chance to win that awesome blog candy!

Hey there, this weekend has been going by pretty fast! I'm here to share another Hope You Can Cling To card for the Splitcoast Stampers card drive for breast cancer patients and their families. The challenges go through the end of the month...I don't know what I'm going to do with myself when they're done. LOL! Holly's challenge, I Will Survive, is focusing on all the survivors out there so she wants us to use purple.

Hmmm...this challenge made me realize...I don't own much purple. The card stock I chose is kind of a soft plum color, but it's still in the purple family! I'm combining two Our Craft Lounge sets: Shower of Blossoms and Oriental Garden. Oriental Garden is being retired (rubber only) and is being offered at 40% off in the OCL online store and Shower of Blossoms is 20% off at Memories of Time but you might need to get the code from FaceBook. Links to both stores are below in the supplies area if you are interested in either set. Actually, I think the MOT code should be good for everything in the store...the last I knew it was, anyway. You might want to check it out.

This is a pretty simple card with lots of coloring! The image was stamped on white card stock and colored with Copic markers. A bow was tied out of some ribbon from my stash then the die cut image was popped up on foam. The sentiment (I'm hoping really does say love and not uh...meatballs or something bizarre! Ha!) was stamped on a die cut tag and a twine bow attaches it to the card. I guess that's about it for this one.

Hey there, happy Saturday! The guys are going out fishing and that gives me a good excuse to head to the "crapping" room (hubby and his buddy's name for my craft room...D'oh!). Today's Hope You Can Cling To challenge for the Splitcoast Stampers card drive is a good one. Michelle is challenging us to "Find Your Happy Place"...somewhere we like to go mentally or physically to get away.
I immediately thought about sponging a sunset, but changed my mind when I thought of the place that makes me the happiest. Our friend's property up the river. We spent almost every weekend up there camping this summer (and every year for the last dozen years). We love it! When we start passing the farms, tractors and the giant marshmallows in the fields, I know we're getting close.
So with that said, I chose an Our Craft Lounge set called Bountiful Harvest. The tractor was stamped on white card stock and colored with Copic markers. I don't use my Toner Gray's very often but I like to break them out for this stamp to give my tractor that sort of rustic feel. All of the die cuts are Spellbinders dies and the DP is Cosmo Cricket. Assorted buttons and twine complete the card.

Hey there, I'm back with another breast cancer awareness card for the Hope You Can Cling To card drive through Splitcoast Stampers. At the end of the month, all of the cards will be sent to the UT MD Anderson Cancer Center in Texas. Barbara's challenge "Big or Small, Save Them All!" is about breast cancer attacking women, men and even children. She wants us to use two sizes of geometric shapes on our projects; I went with squares and circles.
This stamp set is one of my favorite Christmas sets from Our Craft Lounge called Be Jolly. The Nestie circle was cut from white card stock and masked so the ink wouldn't go all the way out to the edge. The snowman was stamped with black ink then colored with Copic markers. The smallest snowflake is there because I forgot to mask the cane and it went to the outside edge...oops!
The snowflakes all have Stickles on them, and a brown brad was put in the center of the smallest to tie the whole thing together. Clear rhinestones complete the card. There isn't a sentiment on the inside...instead, the tree and owl from this set were stamped and colored. I guess that's about it.
Copic coloring:
Snowman: B63, BG10, C00, 0, R30, YR12, YR01, E59, E57, E55, E53, E50 Hat: C5, C3, C1, C00, RV34, RV11, RV10, YG67, YG61 Scarf: RV34, RV11, RV10 Sky (inside and out): R0000 Tree: E59, E57, E55, E53, E50 Owl: E53, E50, E19, E17, YR12, RV34, RV11, RV10 Snow: B63, BG10, C00, 0

Hey there, I have a few days off so I'm hoping to be able to make more cards for the Hope You Can Cling To card drive through Splitcoast Stampers to benefit breast cancer patients and their families. Judy's challenge, Treat Yourself, is about treating ourselves to something decadent, yummy and delicious after a rough day. She wants to see yummy edibles on our cards that have a touch of pink.
For this card, I'm using an Our Craft Lounge set called Life is Sweet. The cherry was stamped first, masked then the ice cream was stamped. It was cut out using the Out-of-the-Box with a Nestie technique. The image was colored with Copic markers then Glossy Accents were applied to the cherries and ice cream dish.
I found some metal tags in a craft store a while ago and have never used them. I thought it would compliment the spoon perfectly so I dug them out. StazOn ink was used on the tag because I didn't want to take a chance that the ink would rub off. A twine bow completes the card.
Copic coloring:
