SNEAK PEEK DAY 2 - Shower of Blossoms

Hey there, I'm back with day 2 of the Our Craft Lounge Sneak Peeks.  Today I'm sharing my most favoritest (hmmm...is that even a word?) set in the whole release!  It's called Shower of Blossoms.

If you want to work on your coloring...this is the set for you!  I sat down to color these images and totally got in the zone and spaced everything out around me.  Don't let the detail freak you out though.  Illustrator, Marianne Walker, gives some awesome coloring tips for this image on her blog, I Like Markers.

Copic coloring:

Umbrella; BG99, BG96, BG93, E37, E35, E34  Bunnies:  RV21, RV00, W5, W4, W3, W2, W1, W0, W00, E31, C2, C1, 0  Flowers:  R01, R00, YG05, YG03  Bushes:  YG97, YG95, YG91, YG23, YG21, G82  Ground:  W5, W4, W3, W2, W0, W00, E31  Shadow:  C3, C2, C1, C0  Rocks:  W4, W3, W0, W00, E31  Sky:  B24, B23, B21, B000

OMGosh...this is only the second time that I've used the X-Press It Blending Card from Copic.  Wow...how can paper be so freakin' amazing!?!  I could color all day long on that stuff and my colors wouldn't bleed!  And blending???  Forget about it!  Seriously awesome paper!  I definitely need to get some more of that stuff!

Copic coloring:

Flowers:  R01, R00, R000, R0000, YG05, YG03  Pot:  BG99, BG96, BG93, R01, R00, R000, R0000, YG05, YG03  Bunnies:  RV21, RV00, W5, W4, W3, W2, W1, W0, W00, E31, C2, C1, 0  Ground:  W5, W4, W3, W2, W1, W0, E31, C00  Sky:  B24, B23, B21, B000

I wanted the image to be what stood out on these cards so I didn't do much with the layout.  Layers were cut from Basic Black, Fern and Neenah.  The Neenah layer was embossed and sponged with Blush Blossom.  To create the matting around the image, some of the layers were run through the Big Shot with a Nestie.  They were cut down the middle then adhered to each side of the image.  Rhinestones from my stash complete each of the cards.
Copic coloring:

Skin:  R00, E02, E01, E00, E000, E15, E13, E11  Hair:  N10, N8, N6, N4, N2, N0  Flowers:  R01, R00, R000, R0000, YG05, YG03  Clothes:  BG99, BG96, BG93, R01, R00, R000, R0000  Bunnies:  RV21, RV00, W5, W4, W3, W2, W1, W0, W00, E31, C2, C1, 0  Ground:  W5, W4, W3, W2, W1, W0, C00  Sky:  B24, B23, B21, B000

  23. Wow!!! These cards are gorgeous! The design is exactly what stands out on them because you did such a fabulous job coloring them! I'm definitely going to have to try some of that paper you mentioned. I have been using Gina K but if the Copic paper works better, I'm all about it! Thanks for the link to the coloring tutorial too. I'm a new follower and love your blog.
