SALTY KISSES

Wow...there really are some fabulous challenges out there to get the ole creative juices flowing!  I had no idea!  I can already see I'm going to get hooked on them.  Just what I need...my hubby already thinks I stamp too much.  Ha!  I made this card to include the following challenges:

2 Sisters Challenge ~ Anything Goes
A Spoonful of Sugar ~ Lets Get Punchy
Cards for Men ~ Anything Goes (as long as it's male)
Club Anya & Friends  ~ Sketchin' it Up!  (http://clubanya.blogspot.com/2010/10/sketchin-it-up.html)
Crafty Purple Frog ~ Anything Goes
I Did it Creations ~ Surprise Me
Let's Ink It Up ~ Make a Scene
Lots To Do ~ Easel card
Penny's Paper-Crafty Challenge ~ So Long as it Flies
Pocket Full of Posies ~ Champagne & Roses
Simon Says Stamp! ~ Punch Em'
Simple Doodles ~ Shape it Out
Speedy the Cat's Friends Challenge ~ Use die cuts or a punch
Top Tip Tuesday ~ Anything Goes

So...onto the card.  I used one of my all time OCL favs.  I realized I don't have any luvy duvy stamp sets but then I thought of this one.  I absolutely love Sandy Sunsets but have never actually stamped the people silhouettes before now.  Sheesh...what was I thinking!?!  This scene will make a beautiful anniversary card!  Hmmm...maybe even retirement?  Happy birthday?  The possibilities are endless!

Two masks were cut out of sticky notes; a circle for the sun and another to cover the beach.  *Hint*  Stamp directly onto your sticky note then cut the mask accordingly but don't discard the piece you cut; you'll use it later to mask the sky.  Once both masks were in place, I sponged Apricot Appeal, Pumpkin Pie, Really Rust and Ruby Red for the sky.  The sun mask was removed leaving the beach mask in place.  The sun was softened by adding the same four colors as before starting with Apricot Appeal.  The beach mask was removed and the sky mask was put into place.  The beach was sponged with Creamy Caramel, Close to Cocoa and Chocolate Chip.  Itty Bitty Backgrounds was stamped for the sand in Close to Cocoa not inking every time.

The sky mask was removed and the people, palm tree, grass and seagulls were stamped in Black Soot using a Stamp-a-ma-jig.  A white gel pen was used to add highlights to the stamped images.  The second panel uses the same four inks as stated above also using sticky notes for masks.  To tie it all together, I used a black marker to extend the horizon from the main image.

The background "ocean", was sponged with Bordering Blue, Not Quite Navy and Night of Navy.  The waves were made with a white gel pen, a mat pack and paper piercing tool was used to poke holes in the corner for the brads, twine was wrapped and tied around the card and the main panel was popped up with Dimensionals.   For the inside "beach" panel, I sponged Creamy Caramel, Close to Cocoa and Chocolate Chip leaving an area of white to write a greeting.  The sentiment was cut using a Spellbinders die and also sponged with the same three colors.  Both the panel and the sentiment were stamped with Itty Bitty Backgrounds in Close to Cocoa without inking every time.  Another brad was added to the sentiment and it was popped up with Dimensionals.  Everything was layered with Basic Black CS.

Thanks for stopping by!

Tam
