Hey there, I'm back with this week's CAS challenge. Misti wanted us to do something beachy. Stamping Bella's Uptown Girls Samantha and Sierra Take a Selfie is perfect for a beach scene! The fun layout is Freshly Made Sketch #196.
The girls were stamped with Tuxedo Black onto Neenah Solar White then colored with Copic markers. *confession time* I knew I was going to use the Polaroid die cut so I didn't waste a whole lot of time coloring underneath...I wanted to spend my time coloring the beach scene instead. The flower completes the card and ties it all together...and, BTW, I'm in love with the Mini Prills! They come in tons of colors and make the perfect flower centers!
Hey there, Happy Monday? LOL So, I'm popping in with some happy news! I was selected to be on Splitcoaststampers (SCS) Clean and Simple (CAS) Design Team! I've been wanting to get back into crafting and what better way to do it than to have a deadline! *grin* I'm actually combining challenges today. The first is Kathy's CAS, Summer Treat, challenge to use food or drink in a project. Yummy birthday cake...check! My SCS friend, Misti Oblander (aka Scraperwannabe), is being honored as this week's SCS Featured Stamper! Congrats, Misti! She has an amazing gallery and it's no wonder she was selected! I combed Misti's gallery and finally selected this beauty to CASE. I loved her layout and the texture from the simple score lines, so I kept those things and tweaked them a little. I made a frame around the outside with score lines and changed the image/sentiment.
Hey there, a family friend recently lost his wife, so I thought I would make him a card. I also wanted to play along in SCS's CAS challenge, Mason Jar. I search all over before finally remembering I had this Taylored Expressions stamp. Sheesh...I desperately need to get my crappin' space cleaned up!
I did sort of a reverse, out-of-the box technique for the layout. I'm not sure if I've ever seen anyone do it before...if they did, I don't have any idea what it's called. Anyway, I stamped the image on Neenah Solar White then colored it with Copic markers. I used an X-Acto knife to cut around the top portion of the flowers then slid the Die-Namic behind them to cut the opening. I could have gotten a similar effect by fussy cutting the image then popping it up, but I thought I would give this a try. I kind of like it! The sentiment was stamped on some plaid paper from my stash before popping the image panel on foam squares. A clear glaze pen gives the jar a nice, subtle shine.
